Canada presents educational opportunities for Pinoy students
Representatives from 12 Canadian institutions will discuss educational opportunities at the Study in Canada Fair 2015, an event for Filipino students considering university studies abroad.
The event will be held at the Radisson Blu Hotel Cebu on February 6 and at the New World Makati Hotel on February 7.
Participating schools are Acsenda School of Management, Algonquin College, British Columbia Institute of Technology, Centennial College, Douglas College, Fairleigh Dickinson University, Humber College, Niagara College, SAIT Polytechnic, Saskatchewan Polytechnic, Seneca College, and the University of Regina.
“Canada is one of the most popular international study destinations in the world with close to 300,000 foreign students studying in Canada each year. Many of these are from the Asia-Pacific region, including the Philippines,” Ambassador Neil Reeder said.
This event is part of Canada's continued drive to bring in more foreign students. It fulfills a part of the education collaboration by the Canadian Bureau for International Education and the Philippine Commission on Higher Education.
Both organizations recently signed a joint statement that will "promote research, student and faculty exchange, curriculum enhancement, and faculty development."
Last year, the embassy launched a similar career fair that carried recommendations from successful Filipino alumni of Canadian institutions. —Rie Takumi/KBK, GMA News
