Palace: Cabinet OKs ID system for OFWs 'with conditions'

The Duterte Cabinet has approved the creation of an identification card system for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) under the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), a Malacañang spokesman said Tuesday.
"The Cabinet has approved with conditions the iDOLE - OFW Identification Card System," presidential spokesperson Ernesto Abella said following the 12th Cabinet meeting in Malacañang. He did not elaborate.
According to Abella, an OFW ID card allows bearer to easily transact with government and private agencies and access their government records.
The ID card will also serve as a debit card and an ATM card for OFW banks as well as a Beep card for the LRT and MRT. —KBK, GMA News
