Pinoy seafarer dies onboard cargo ship –report

A Filipino seafarer died Sunday aboard a cargo ship bound for North Africa, according to a report on the Royal Gazette.
The report did not identify the Filipino but described him as 21 years old and a crew member of Golden Taurus.
It said the Filipino was found "in a semi-conscious state" on Sunday afternoon and died later despite medical efforts by the crew on board.
Golden Taurus, which was carrying wheat grain, was on its way to Oran, Algeria, in North Africa after leaving the port of Myrtle Grove in New Orleans.
It had to change course and divert into Bermuda on Wednesday to disembark the dead Filipino.
The report said ship company representatives are expected to arrive in Bermuda to handle the situation.
Investigations by local Coroner and Marine Police, meanwhile, are ongoing. —KBK, GMA News
