Pinay who jumped off KL bridge discharged from hospital

The Filipino woman who reportedly jumped off a flyover at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport was discharged from the hospital and is waiting for a medical clearance to fly back to Manila, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said on Monday.

“She has been discharged from the hospital and is currently awaiting the doctor’s clearance to travel back to the Philippines,” DFA spokesman Charles Jose told a press briefing.

It was not clear why the Filipino, whose identity was withheld by the DFA, jumped off a flyover on June 9, but some media reports suggested that she may have been “drugged.”

An embassy report said she suffered a broken leg and other related injuries from the fall and was given immediate medical attention at the Putrajaya Hospital.

Jose said the Filipina entered Malaysia as a tourist.

Citing initial information reaching it, the embassy said the Filipina jumped from a height of five meters at the KLIA 2.

Several passersby saw the incident and immediately called for help.

Meanwhile, the embassy asked netizens to exercise caution about spreading information on social media.

“Because of the sensitivity of her condition, we would like to request that we allow her time to rest and recover from the incident. We also ask that netizens exercise caution about sharing information in social media, especially on cases like these,” it said. Michaela del Callar/KBK, GMA News
