Pinoys reminded vs. ‘fixers’ at PHL Embassy in Riyadh

Filipinos in Saudi Arabia were reminded Thursday against dealing with so-called fixers at the Philippine Embassy in Riyadh.

The embassy issued the reminder after receiving a complaint that three people sought money to facilitate passport services and assist in repatriation.

It said the three, who were subjects of a complaint, are not employees of the embassy or of its attached agencies:

Lucy Grace Paala (0580842831)
Benedict Dayag
Cedrick Fernandez

"According to a complaint, these individuals allegedly asked for money to facilitate passport services and assist in repatriation with regard to employment problems," the Embassy said.

It reminded the public to transact only with officials of the Philippine Embassy and its attached agencies.

Filipinos should also "exercise caution when dealing with individuals claiming to be officials of the Embassy," it added.

"Every consular service provided by the Embassy is issued a corresponding Official Receipt with corresponding service numbers," it said.

It added the names of the officials of the Embassy and its attached agencies as well as the Embassy’s contact information are available at http://www.riyadhpe.dfa.gov.ph.  Joel Locsin/LBG, GMA News
