POLO in Riyadh temporarily closed

Filipino workers in Saudi Arabia may have to bear with the temporary closure of the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) in Riyadh starting Tuesday, May 5.

The Philippine Embassy in Riyadh said this was due to an advisory from Riyadh authorities for the POLO to move to a commercial area so it can better serve its clients.

"Ang pansamantalang pagsasara na ito ay kinakailangan dahil sa payo ng Munisipyo ng Riyadh sa POLO na lumipat sa isang commercial area na mas angkop para sa pagbibigay-serbisyo sa mga kliyente nito," the embassy said in an advisory.

But the embassy stressed the closure is temporary and that Philippine authorities are looking for a new location for the POLO. It said it will come out with an advisory on the POLO's new location soonest.
