Remains of cadet in mysterious death brought home to Iloilo
Amid questions surrounding his death, the remains of a deck cadet who died last March aboard a vessel in Brazil were brought home to Iloilo on Monday.
Relatives received the remains of Felipe Borra III at the Iloilo airport, GMA Iloilo's Charlene Belvis reported Tuesday.
Borra, 21, was found dead aboard the M/V Sanko Fortune while it was heading for Singapore from Brazil last March 20 (PHL time).
He was a fourth-year marine transportation cadet of John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University and would have graduated this year.
Borra's relatives still could not believe the claim of M/V Sanko Fortune's shipping company that he hanged himself.
In the meantime, they are making arrangements for Borra's burial on May 7, Thursday.
From the Iloilo Airport, vehicles bearing Borra's relatives proceeded to Sara town in a convoy.
The family will ask the National Bureau of Investigation for another autopsy of the cadet, who had been autopsied in Singapore. — Joel Locsin/LBG, GMA News
