Bello on 'inefficient' PHL execs in MidEast: Recall agad, pasensyahan tayo

RIYADH — Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III has warned Philippine labor officials in Saudi Arabia and other countries in the Middle East that they will be immediately recalled who would be remiss in their duties.
Bello, who was part of President Rodrigo Duterte's delegation during his three-nation visit to the Middle East last week, issued the warning during a speech before members of the Filipino community here.
In attendance were leaders of Filipino communities in Riyadh, Jeddah and Al Khobar.
Despite this, Bello expressed confidence that the new batch of Philippine labor officials in Saudi Arabia will be able to accomplish their tasks with efficiency.
Last year, Bello sent home several labor officials in Saudi Arabia due to their alleged inaction toward the plight of Filipinos affected by the massive downsizing of companies here as a result of the oil crisis, as well as those who were reportedly abused by their employers.
Aside from Saudi Arabia, Duterte and his delegation also visited Bahrain and Qatar last week. —Ronaldo Concha/KBK, GMA News
