DFA: 181 Pinoys evacuated from Libya

Another 181 Filipinos have been evacuated from strife-torn Libya, the Department of Foreign Affairs said Saturday.
 
Citing information from the Philippine Embassy in Tripoli, the DFA said the Filipinos were brought to Tunisia following their evacuation.
 
It said 47 Filipinos based in eastern Libya were evacuated on April 15 while 134 Filipino more based in western and central Libya were evacuated on April 16.
 
An embassy team brought the evacuees to the Tunis International Airport and arranged for their flights to the Philippines.
 
The DFA said 47 arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Friday while 76 were to arrive Saturday.
 
Another group of 58 is to arrive on Sunday afternoon. Representatives from the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration will welcome them.
 
"These arrivals will bring the total number of repatriated Filipinos from Libya to 4,812," the DFA said.
 
Meanwhile, Embassy in Tripoli Charge d'Affaires Adelio Cruz reiterated his appeal to Filipinos still in Libya to avail of the government’s mandatory repatriation offer.

Meanwhile, 20 Filipinos evacuated from Yemen were to arrive Saturday afternoon, bringing the total repatriates from Yemen to 468.
