PHL embassy team readied to help Pinoys affected by Nepal quake
A Philippine team is being readied to head for Nepal to help Filipinos who may have been affected by the magnitude-7.8 quake there.
The Philippine embassy in New Delhi is preparing the team, radio dzBB reported Sunday afternoon.
For its part, the Philippine Red Cross through Chairman Richard Gordon said it is sending relief assistance and a team of staff and volunteers to help in rescue and medical operations.
Earlier on Sunday, the Department of Foreign Affairs said no Filipino was among the casualties of the killer quake.
In a later tweet, the DFA said two Filipino mountaineers in Everest are safe.
Also, it said there are about 200 Filipinos in Nepal.
