PHL Embassy in Washington closed Oct 6, 7

The Philippine embassy in Washington D.C. will be closed on October 6 and 7, a Monday and a Tuesday, due to Philippine and US holidays.

In its October holiday notice, the embassy said it will be closed Oct. 6 for Eid al-Adha, a Philippine holiday as declared by MalacaƱang.

Eid al-Adha is one of the greatest feasts of Islam, and commemorates the sacrifice made by Abraham.

On Oct. 7, the embassy will be closed for Columbus Day, a holiday in the US.

Columbus Day is a federal holiday on the second Monday of October to remember Christopher Columbus, the first European to discover the Americas.  Joel Locsin /LBG, GMA News
