Kin, friends of Pinay in Indonesia’s death row light candles, offer prayers
Relatives and friends of a Filipina facing the death penalty in Indonesia over a drug-related case on Tuesday lit candles and offered prayers in Nueva Ecija that she would be spared from execution.
The relatives and friends had gathered in Cabanatuan City for Filipina Mary Jane Veloso, GMA Dagupan reported Wednesday.
Indonesia's government is expected to announce on Thursday, April 9, its decision on whether to stay Veloso's execution.
For its part, militant migrants group Migrante said the recruitment agency that deployed Veloso should also be held accountable. —Joel Locsin/NB, GMA News
