Techie Pinay maid retrieves Saudi employer's hacked email –reports

She cooks, she cleans, she hacks: a Filipina maid used her technical know-how in recovering her Saudi Arabian employer's hacked emails, reports said.

report on Arab News cited information from the Arab-language Al-Arabiya.net saying the maid tried recovering the mail after her sponsor failed to do so.

The maid offered her assistance after the sponsor, who is from Rafha, gave up trying to retrieve his email and told his family what happened.

While her sponsor initially thought she was joking, the Filipina managed to retrieved the hacked mail in five minutes, and in front of her sponsor's wife and daughters.

It turned out the Filipina is a techie, having worked in a computer shop and learning "computer skills" from her employer in the Philippines, the report said.

But she was forced to work in Saudi Arabia as a domestic worker due to her economic state and Philippine laws against hacking.

separate report on Emirates 24/7 said not only the Filipina knew how to hack, she also knew how to retrieve hacked information. Joel Locsin/KBK, GMA News
