Over 30 Pagadian students faint during earthquake, fire drill

Over 30 high school students in Pagadian City in Zamboanga del Sur fainted during an earthquake and fire drill, GMA News' Victoria Tulad reported on Unang Balita on Thursday.
According to Genevieve Aclanon, training staff of the Pagadian City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO), the students, all of them from Saint Columban College - High School Department, were rushed to a hospital where most of them were discharged eventually.
"Most of them discharged na from the hospital. Few of them, I think six students, nasa hospital pa," she said.
The report said the CDRRMO spearheaded the earthquake drill, which was followed by the Bureau of Fire Protection's fire drill where students and teachers were taught how to use fire extinguishers.
The students fainted during the fire drill.
Parents rushed to the school to check on their children. Even Vice Mayor Ernesto Mondarte went to the scene to facilitate crowd control.
Investigation was ongoing as of posting time to determine why the students fainted.
School officials have yet to make a statement. —KBK, GMA News
