Pinay immigrant-nurse ‘welcomed’ to America on Jimmy Kimmel Live

American late-night talk-show host Jimmy Kimmel celebrated Flag Day by giving recently sworn-in US citizens "an introduction to the country they deserve."
In an episode of "Jimmy Kimmel Live" aired Thursday, a Filipina nurse from Lubao, Pampanga was among the immigrants given a loud, glitzy welcome.
Flor Afable Cooley was invited to the show along with fellow professionals hailing from Rwanda, Iran, Mexico, and India.
"We seem to have forgotten that this is a nation of immigrants," Kimmel said. "People who come to this country, who came here because they believe they can build a better life."
Joking about the procedure where immigrants take the oath of citizenship, the host added: “I think becoming an American shouldn’t look like a visit to the DMV. It's a big deal and we think it deserves a big deal."
