Passport appointments not accepted June 16, 2018 due to server maintenance


The Department of Foreign Affairs on Saturday said no appointment slots will be made on Saturday, June 16, 2018.
The DFA said its server will undergo maintenance and upgrade.
It advised the public to check the DFA website on Monday, June 18, 2018 as appointment slots will be opened by the DFA-Office of Consular Affairs then from 12-9 p.m.
On Thursday, the DFA opened 100,000 passport application slots to address the current backlog in its online application and renewal system. —KG, GMA News

STAR / Michael Varcas MANILA, Philippines — While Chinese vessels in the West Philippine Sea (WPS) have decreased in number, they have maintained a presence in three key land features where naval and coast guard ships have intensified operations in the past seven days, according to the Philippine Navy. Latest monitoring by the Philippine Navy showed armed ships of the People’s Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) maintaining a menacing presence around the grounded BRP Sierra Madre in Ayungin Shoal, Panatag Shoal and Escoda Shoal.
