Balancing work and music, OFW band to release EP in May

UAE-based all-Filipino group ThirdParty has something to be excited about come May.
On May 5 at the Club Vegas in Holiday Inn Bur Dubai-Embassy District, the group will release an EP of all-original songs.
The independently produced EP, according to guitarist and lyricist Miguel Perez, is the culmination of four years of hard work for the band.
"Almost four years in the making kasi ngayon lang nagkaroon ng pagkakataon na mag-produce kami independently at sa tulong ng mga kaibigan namin," Perez said in an email interview.

Perez said the EP has been arranged "the way we think it's best arranged, based on our individual influences, sound preference, and technical capabilities."
"I cannot really explain what ThirdParty sound is, as we are not really boxed or limited to a specific genre or type of music," he added.
Perez considers fellow Filipino bands in UAE as their influence, noting that their numbers are growing. "Since January 2016, andami nang bagong banda na nabuo dito at talagang magagaling," he said.
"They are into writing original stuff, kahit anong genre pa yan, saludo kami sa kanila. Yun naman ang very reason kung bakit nabuo ang ThirdParty in the first place, to write and perform original songs," he added.
The group will now be performing with a new vocalist, Jallo Canlubo, 27, office assistant at the Funsho International Group in Dubai.
"Jallo is the latest addition sa banda. Siya ang pumalit sa dati naming vocalist. Nag-post kami sa Facebook na naghahanap kami ng bagong boses. Fortunately, nag-presinta si Jallo na mabilis naka-blend sa banda." —KBK, GMA News
