Fil-Am actress Eva Noblezada lands 2017 Tony nomination

Filipino-American stage actress Eva Noblezada was nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Musical for this year's Tony Awards.
Noblezada was nominated for her exceptional portrayal of Kim in the "Miss Saigon", a role she also played at London's West End.
Among Eva's fellow nominees were:
  • DenĂ©e Benton for Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812;
  • Christine Ebersole for War Paint;
  • Patti LuPone for War Paint; and
  • Bette Midler, Hello, Dolly!
The list of nominations was announced Tuesday at  the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at the Lincoln Center.

Pixabay MANILA, Philippines — The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has expanded its list of medicines which are exempt from the value added tax (VAT). Revenue Memorandum Circular No. 17-2024 released by the tax bureau exempted 21 medications following the endorsement of the Food and Drug Administration. The VAT-exempted medications on the list are for conditions such as cancer, diabetes, high cholesterol, hypertension, kidney disease, mental illness and tuberculosis.
