Pinoy detained in UAE for allegedly raping Pinay co-worker —report
A Filipino worker in the United Arab Emirates has been detained over allegations he raped his Filipina co-worker, an Emirates news site reported Wednesday.
The report on Emirates 24/7 said the Filipina, 28, accused the suspect of raping her at their shared labor accommodation in Al Satwa area.
Maj. Gen. Khalil Al Mansouri, Director General of Dubai Police Criminal Investigation Division, said the case has been referred to Dubai Public Prosecution for further investigation.
Investigation showed the woman was sleeping when the suspect approached her and raped her. He supposedly put his hands over her mouth to keep her from screaming.
She went to the Bur Dubai Police station and reported the incident the next day, noting the suspect was drunk when he raped her.
But the suspect denied raping the woman, saying she agreed to have sex with him. For now, he is detained.
