Michelle Obama graces White House gala in Monique Lhuillier
US First Lady Michelle Obama walked into the 37th Annual Kennedy Center Honors last Sunday (US time) in yet another gown designed by Cebuano designer Monique Lhuillier.
Hollywood site E! reported that the gown followed this year's sheer panel illusion trend, with iridescent beading of intricate designs on a blush-pink bodice and skirt, coupled with metallic platform pumps and drop earrings.
Accoring to StyleList, the floor-length gown was from Lhuillier's 2015 spring collection.
Meanwhile, New York Times reported that this was not the first time Mrs. Obama wore a Lhuillier, as she had worn a "black, bustier-topped frock" to the White House Correspondent's Dinner in 2013.
Lhuillier's designs also made their way to the red carpet, as Chrissy Teigen, wife of Grammy-winning singer John Legend, strutted through the 86th Academy Awards earlier in March.
Her designs were also featured during the New York Fashion Week in February, along with fellow Cebuano Furne Amato's designs. —Rie Takumi/KBK, GMA News
