Kin barred from bringing food to quarantined OFWs
Families of the overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) from Sierra Leone who are currently undergoing quarantine procedures in the Philippines have appealed to concerned agencies to supply their loved ones with sufficient food.
The relatives made their appeal after the Bureau of Quarantine barred them from bringing food to the OFWs, a report on “24 Oras” said Tuesday.
“Dapat sana mayroong nagluluto, ganun po, para maging sapat sa kanila [yung pagkain],” a relative of one of the OFWs said.
The report said the OFWs have complained of insufficient food ration and of boredom due to lack of entertainment in the quarantine area. They said they didn't even have a TV set there.
Some of the relatives traveled from the provinces to Metro Manila to welcome the OFWs home, the report said.
At least 14 Filipinos were quarantined after arriving from Sierra Leone and Liberia.
