Pinoy priests in Vatican offer prayers as Ruby nears PHL
Filipino priests in the Vatican on Friday offered prayers for the Philippines as Typhoon Ruby (Hagupit) continued to move toward Eastern Visayas.
Pontificio Collegio Filipino (PCF) rector Fr. Gregory Gaston said they are praying that Ruby will at least not be as destructive as Yolanda (Haiyan) last year.
“Nakikita rin namin dito sa Roma ang nangyayari dyan sa Pilipinas, ipagdasal natin na hindi ito maging mapaminsala, kasi nandun pa rin ang experience last year lang yun nangyari (Yolanda) at ipagdasal natin din ang mga tinamaan last year na sana makarecover sila at of course we put our trust to the Lord,” he told Church-run Radyo Veritas.
Gaston also lamented that Ruby is threatening the country as it is still recovering from Yolanda, which left more than 6,300 dead.
