DFA releases schedule of authentication services during holidays

The Department of Foreign Affairs on Friday released the schedule of authentication services at its main and satellite offices in some provinces.

In a news release, the DFA said this is due to the coming Christmas and New Year holidays.

Covered by the schedules are:

DFA Aseana
DFA NCR-West (SM Manila)
DFA NCR-East (SM Megamall)
DFA NCR-Northeast (Ali Mall)
DFA NCR-South (Metro Gaisano Alabang)
DFA San Fernando-Pampanga (Robinson Starmills).

According to the DFA, expedite-filed documents filed Dec. 19 will be released Dec. 22; those filed Dec. 22 will be released Dec. 23; and those filed Dec. 23 will be released Dec. 29.

On the other hand, regular-filed documents filed Dec. 19 will be released Jan. 7; those filed Dec. 22 will be released Jan. 8; those filed Dec. 23 will be released Jan. 8; and those filed Dec. 29 will be released Jan. 9.

The regular authentication services schedule will resume on January 5, 2015. —Joel Locsin/KBK, GMA News

PCG: China’s bullying in West Philippine Sea undermines international law --- Ghio Ong - The Philippine Star

STAR / Michael Varcas MANILA, Philippines — While Chinese vessels in the West Philippine Sea (WPS) have decreased in number, they have maintained a presence in three key land features where naval and coast guard ships have intensified operations in the past seven days, according to the Philippine Navy. Latest monitoring by the Philippine Navy showed armed ships of the People’s Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) maintaining a menacing presence around the grounded BRP Sierra Madre in Ayungin Shoal, Panatag Shoal and Escoda Shoal. According to the Philippine Navy, there are 17 Chinese military vessels and 28 China Coast Guard (CCG) boats spotted inside the country’s exclusive economic zone (EEZ) between Sept. 23 and 30, or one vessel more than in the previous week Sept.17-23.
