65 Pinoy kids, whose births are unregistered, in the care of the PHL Embassy in Kuwait

More and more half-Filipino children are growing up unregistered in Kuwait due to their parents being unmarried at the time of their birth or worse, deported.
 
At least 65 children from extra-marital relationships are under the care of the Philippine Embassy in Kuwait as of March 2015, and according to GMA's "24 Oras", the numbers could reach up to 100.
 
"Marami po tayong kailangang i-meet na requirements sapagkat unang-una nga po, wala na silang visa, lalo na yung mga nanay. Meron pa po silang hinaharap na kaso," Annie Mendoza, Department of Social Welfare and Development officer, said.

"24 Oras" reported that the Embassy in Kuwait are taking steps in order to have the children moved to the Philippines in order to live normally.

"Evelyn" received the same treatment from her Indian lover and employer. Both women have husbands and children waiting in the Philippines.
 
"Nakulong po ako, three days po. 'Di naman po ako tumatakas, hinatid ako ng amo ko sa POLO-OWWA," Evelyn, whose lover left her, explained.
 
While their babies were conceived through relationships, "Ana" was forced to carry her baby to term after her employer raped her. Her employer got away scot-free, but Ana had to spend six months in jail with her child.
 
"Yun po pinaka masakit sa lahat, kasi kasa-kasama mo makulong anak mo. Bilang ina, makulong ka na, wag lang anak mo. Masakit yun bilang ina, mapait po," she said.
 
In 2014, unmarried Filipinas were given the option to take DNA testing in Saudi Arabia in order to have their children's papers processed by Saudi authorities.
 
The process allowed previously undocumented children to be legally recognized by the Saudi government.    Rie Takumi/ELR, GMA News
