Pinoy arrested at Singapore airport for carrying ammo

A Filipino was arrested at the Singapore Airport for allegedly possessing ammunition, the Philippine embassy there said Wednesday.

In a post on its website, the embassy said the Singapore Airport Police arrested the Filipino for violating the Arms Offences Act of Singapore.

The embassy did not immediately give further details.

However, it reminded travelers from the Philippines "not to carry, whether intentionally or otherwise, any form of ammunition in their belongings."

"The carrying of guns and ammunition is strictly regulated by the Philippines and other countries,  and violators will be arrested by police authorities,” it said.

The embassy added that in order to avoid arrest and unnecessary delay in their journey, “especially those traveling to or transiting in Singapore, Filipino travellers are reminded not to carry arms or ammunitions.” Joel Locsin/KBK, GMA News.
