8 more Filipino nurses ready to take Germany’s recognition test

Administrator Hans Leo J. Cacdac yesterday said that another eight Filipino nurses under the Triple Win Project of Germany passed the B2 level German language examination, the preparatory step to the recognition test set later this year.

In his report to Labor Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz, Cacdac said the eight nurses were part of the batch of Filipino nurses deployed to Freiburg, Germany on 7 April 2015.

Cacdac said that 22 Filipinos out of the 61 nurses who are now working in eight (8) healthcare facilities in major cities in Germany have already taken the Recognition (Anerkennung) exam with a passing rate of 100 percent. The first group of nurses left for Frankfurt on 14 December 2013.

Before the pre-qualified nurses could be deployed under the Project, they need to pass an assessment for a B1 level of German language proficiency, complete a pre-departure orientation and professional training, pass the medical examination requirement and obtain the work visa.

The language training course for 6 months toward attaining the required German language level has also started in cooperation with the Goethe Institute and Berlitz Language Center, which are the only authorized training entities for the Triple Win Project.

Cacdac said Germany is one of the five countries that have signed labor agreements with the Philippines and with manpower requirements serviced by the POEA’s government-to-government hiring facility.  The other countries are South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Japan, and United Arab Emirates.

The POEA also implement a special hiring program under an agreement signed between the Manila Economic and Cultural Office (MECO) and the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) for the documentation of Filipino workers who are pre-selected by Taiwan employers.
