RWO-NCR opens search for the Regional Model OFW Family of the Year 2015
The Regional Welfare Office-National Capital Region (RWO-NCR) formally opens the search for this year’s  Model OFW Family for the National Capital Region.
 
The Model OFW Family of the Year Award - Parangal sa Matatag na Pamilyang OFW or MOFYA, is an annual search for successful OFW families which aims to highlight their triumph in facing the challenges of migration.     
 
Two outstanding OFW families from the National Capital Region (NCR) will be chosen, one from the Landbased sector and one from the Seabased sector, and will represent NCR in this year’s National MOFYA search.
 
All OFW groups, Non-government Organizations and other associations in the Philippines, and FILCOM organizations abroad may nominate their Model OFW Family who met the basic qualification requirements, as follows:
 
a.  The family should be headed by an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW), formerly or presently working abroad, with proof of OWWA membership.
b.  The OFW, married or single, should have at least five (5) years work experience as an OFW.
c.   The OFW family is known as solid/stable family in the locality.
d.   Family must be financially stable.
 
Selection of outstanding OFW families shall be based on the following criteria:
 
a.  Wholesome OFW Family (50%), which covers constancy of positive communication leading to emotional connection, support and maintenance, sharing of responsibilities among OFW family members and psycho-social maturity of children; 
b.    Civic/Community Involvement of OFW and Family (20%);
c.    Success in OFW and/or Family member/s education or profession (20%);  and
d.    Success in Managing Family Finances (10%).
 
Deadline of submission of nominations is on September 11, 2015.
