Remains of OFW killed in Kuwait bus accident arrive in Cagayan de Oro
The remains of an overseas Filipino worker who was killed in a bus accident in Kuwait were brought to his home in Barangay Camaman-an in Cagayan de Oro City this week.
Daniel Tiro worked as a pipe fitter in Kuwait for nine months before figuring in the accident last Sept. 26, GMA Northern Mindanao's Francis Damit reported Wednesday.
An investigation showed Tiro had come from a garage sale and rode a bus home, but the speeding bus went out of control and hit a car. Tiro, who was sleeping, died from head injuries.
His live-in partner, Orlette Quimjo, said he had planned to marry her when he returned from Kuwait. Tiro has four children.
Tiro's remains were initially expected to be brought back home December, but the Overseas Workers' Welfare Administration facilitated the return of his remains last October 4. — Joel Locsin /LBG, GMA News
