5 Filipinos killed in Qatar car crash

DOHA, Qatar (UPDATED) – Five Filipinos were killed after their vehicle caught fire when it was hit by a sports utility vehicle driven by a Qatari national.
The Philippine embassy identified the fatalities as Marilou Cal, Joyce Gelli, couple Ben Chris Rivera and Joyce Rivera and their one-year-old son, Arclian Zirc III.
The lone survivor was identified as Suzeth Rivera who is confined at the Hamad Hospital.
The victims’ remains were burned beyond recognition.
The accident happened on the Corniche-Wakra Highway near the Hamad International Airport.
Cal and Gelli were nurses working in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. They went with Suzeth to visit her relatives Ben and Joyce in Qatar for the Eid Al-Adha holiday.
Meanwhile, the 18-year old driver that hit their vehicle is being treated for fractured legs. With a report from Henry Atuelan, DZMM
