Loboc Children's Choir tours South Korea

Nearly a year after their home province was devastated by a magnitude-7.2 quake, the Loboc Children’s Choir continued to do the country proud in the international scene.

The renowned choir went on a 10-day concert tour of South Korea that ended September 26, the Department of Foreign Affairs said.

It performed in Seoul together with South Korea’s best children’s chorale to mark the 65th anniversary of ties between the Philippines and South Korea.

Last September 16, the Loboc Children's Choir (LCC) and World Vision Korea Children’s Choir (WVKCC) performed at the “Korea-Philippines Friendship Concert” at the Grand Theater of the Gangdong Arts and Culture Center in Seoul.

Officials from Seoul's Gangdong district led by District Mayor Lee Hae Shik attended the concert conceptualized by Cool-Jae Huh, founding chairman of Korea Choral Composers Association.

At the start of the concert, WVKCC sang classical, religious and Korean pop songs.

The Bohol-based LBC then rendered “Reflection,” and the hit “Nella Fantasia”.

Both choirs then ended the show by singing “The Prayer” and “Rise Up Again” in unison.

6 concerts

The 20-member Loboc Children’s Choir performed in six concerts organized by Huh in Gwangju, Yongin, Cheongju, Ulsan and Seogwipo.

LCC is a three-time National Champion in the Children’s Choir Category of the National Music Competition for Young Artists (NAMCYA), winning in 1993, 1995, and 2001.  Joel Locsin/TJD, GMA News
