Officials from the Philippine Embassy in Beirut, Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO), and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) transported the 15 OFWs from the embassy's shelter to the airport last July 22.

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) provided plane tickets for the Filipinos, allowing them to board a flight that will arrive in Manila on July 23.

According to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), 5,671 Filipinos have been repatriated from Syria since 2011 because of the continued unrest in the country. —Rie Takumi/KBK, GMA News
